The Deputy Minister of Finance discusses with the ambassadors of the European Union economic developments and current reforms

Today, Deputy Minister of Finance Hani Wahhab discussed in the capital, Aden, with a number of heads of European expeditions accredited to Yemen, headed by the European Union Ambassador to Yemen, Gabriel Vinals, the developments in the economic and financial conditions, and current reform efforts aimed at improving and achieving stability in the economic situation.

During the meeting, which included a number of advisors, undersecretaries and stakeholders in the Ministry of Finance, and the ambassadors of France, Germany, Norway and Portugal, a number of issues related the exchange rate for the budget, capacity building, the relationship between exchange rates and public finance, and prospects for Gulf support were discussed.

The Deputy Minister of Finance reviewed the efforts of the Ministry of Finance on the level of implementing the measures of the economic, financial and monetary reforms program that was recently signed with the Arab Monetary Fund, pointing to the financial effects in case of the continued halt in oil exports.

For their part, the ambassadors of the European Union affirmed the continuation of support for Yemen and Yemenis and the efforts of the state represented by the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank to contribute to the recovery and improvement of the economy and currency, and alleviating the suffering of citizens.
